It is possible to configure the plugin so the menu is only visible in small screen devices, mobiles and small tablets. With this setup this menu could be a very useful fixed menu that allows a better navigation experience in those small screens. In top or bottom position is quite intuitive to open it as it is a usual gesture between mobile users. If you are not happy with how your theme tackles responsive menu for mobiles you can always delete or comment the responsive menu lines in your theme files and rely on this fancy navigation for responsive purposes.
